1- Are batteries included in electric bike conversion kits?
Yes. The kits contain everything you need to convert your bicycle into an electric bike: motor, rims, battery, LED or color LCD display, PAS, cables, throttle, and assembly instructions – all delivered complete in one box.
2- What is the range of DORELLO electric bike conversion kits?
Generally, electric bike conversion kits have a range of 30-100+ km. This distance varies depending on many factors such as throttle usage intensity, road conditions, rider weight, extra load carried, wind, steepness and length of hills. You can find average range values under the technical section, and you can consider higher capacity battery options if needed.
3- With DORELLO electric bike conversion kits, how many steep hills can I climb?
Generally, the incline that electric bike conversion kits can climb varies depending on the nominal motor power. In general, with pedal assist, there are no incline limitations.
With our 250W motors, you can climb inclines of approximately 5% using only the throttle, without pedaling.
With our 500W motors, you can climb inclines of approximately 25% using only the throttle, without pedaling.
With our 750W motors, you can climb inclines of approximately 35% using only the throttle, without pedaling.
What is the value of 4 watt-hours (Wh)?
The watt-hour (Wh) rating is a measure of the battery's 'capacity'. Think of it like the 'fuel tank capacity' of a car. The higher the Wh rating of a battery, the greater its range.
5. How long does it take to charge the battery?
Full charging time varies between 4-6 hours depending on battery capacity.
With a 1-hour charge, you can travel approximately 20km with a 250W motor on a flat road.
With a 1-hour charge, you can travel approximately 35km with a 500W motor on a flat road.
With a 1-hour charge, you can travel approximately 45km with a 750W motor on a flat road.
6- What are the maximum speeds of the DORELLO kits?
250W conversion kits reach speeds of up to 24 km/h.
500W conversion kits have a maximum speed of 40 km/h.
The DORELLO 750 can reach speeds of 50+ km/h.
7- What are the specifications of the rims and spokes used in DORELLO kits?
The kits are prepared and shipped with double-layered spokes woven onto a special e-bike rim, in the rim diameter selected during ordering. The spokes used in DORELLO kits are special e-bike spokes.
8- Does it charge when we pedal?
The high-efficiency motors we use in e-bikes are not regenerative. Regenerative motors can feed small amounts of energy back into batteries, but they do so at the cost of significant efficiency and price.
9 - Can electric bikes be used in the rain?
Yes. The motors, indicators, and wiring we use have international IP65 water and dust resistance ratings. However, we do not recommend leaving them outside in the rain for extended periods or washing them with pressurized water, especially since the batteries consist of many electronic components.
10 - Can I ride without pedaling if I want to?
Yes. We include a hand throttle as standard in all our electric bike conversion kits. You can use it with the hand throttle without pedaling whenever you want.
11 - Will it fit my bicycle?
There are thousands of different types of bicycles currently on the market, so it's impossible to create a complete list of compatible and incompatible bikes. However, the front and rear fork widths used in the bicycle industry are almost standard across all bikes. Nearly all city bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrid bikes, folding bikes, etc., have a standard front fork width of 100 mm and a rear fork width of 135 mm, making them suitable for conversion.
12- What tools will I need to assemble the DORELLO kits?
An Allen wrench and a simple screwdriver will suffice. For details on the materials needed for different kits, please CONTACT our sales team.
13 - How do I assemble the DORELLO kits?
Electric bike conversion kits are designed to be simple enough for you to assemble yourself. Installation can be easily done by following the assembly guide.
14 - Can DORELLO kits be used on bicycles with disc brakes?
All kits can be easily installed on bicycles with hydraulic or mechanical disc brakes.
15 - Do I need a torque wrench?
Hub motor kits are shipped with special nuts to ensure the motor is securely attached to your bike. However, we recommend considering that torque arms provide extra security, especially for high-torque motors.
16 - Can I continue driving if my battery runs out?
Of course! The motor doesn't negatively affect the bike's smoothness. Even if the battery runs out, you can continue using it like a standard bicycle.
17 - How do I charge my battery? How do I protect it?
The batteries charge from standard 220V outlets found at home. Lithium-ion batteries have no memory effect, so you don't need to wait for your battery to be completely discharged before charging it. To get the longest life out of your battery, it's best to charge it after each use, or at least once a day if used daily. If not used for a long time, it should be charged once a month. All kits include smart chargers that stop charging when the battery is fully charged, so there's no harm in leaving your bike plugged in at all times.
You can purchase the fast charger option if needed.
18 - Can I purchase it with a spare battery?
CAN BE CUSTOM-MADE AND SHIPPED IF REQUIRED.
19 - Will the battery case fit my bicycle?
With various battery pack options, we aim to offer you the most suitable choice. You can select the most appropriate battery pack for your bicycle from different water bottle-type or luggage-type battery packs.
20 - What will happen when my battery reaches the end of its life?
One of the most positive aspects of Li-Ion batteries is their very long lifespan. When your batteries reach the end of their life, you don't need to buy new ones. Send us your expired batteries, and we'll refurbish them to your desired voltage and amperage at our battery spot welding center.
21 - Front Hub Motor, Rear Hub Motor, or Mid-Drive Motor? Which motor type should I choose?
There's no single rule for determining the best motorcycle. You can choose a motorcycle based on your specific needs and the type of bike you own. Each type of motorcycle has its own advantages. Generally speaking:
Front Hub Motors: This is the simplest type of motor to install. Located in the rear wheel hub, it's completely independent of the derailleur, chain, and gear system. Additionally, it provides a more balanced weight distribution compared to rear motors. Electric bicycles using this type of motor can be described as two-wheel drive because the front wheel receives motor assistance and the rear wheel uses muscle power.
Rear Hub Motors: Most bicycles have a weight distribution closer to the rear wheel. Therefore, rear hub motors offer excellent road handling. Because motors with high torque values, such as 750W, produce torques that the front fork cannot handle, rear hub motors are preferred. Their installation takes relatively longer compared to front hub motors. They are also preferred in models using front hub derailleurs and in most folding bikes.
Mid-Drive Motors: Mid-drive motors are mounted on the pedal hub. Therefore, they operate independently of dynamos or hub gears located in the tire hubs. Mid-drive motors are known for their very high torque values. These motor types are small, compact, and highly efficient. They are preferred in off-road applications, in areas with very steep inclines, and even when carrying heavy loads.
22 - What is Pedal Assist?
Pedal assist activates when pedaling begins, providing the rider with the desired level of support. The faster you pedal, the more assistance the motor provides. The pedal assist level can be increased or decreased via the display. Pedal assist can be switched off at any time, allowing you to continue using the bike as a standard bicycle. All electric bike conversion kits include pedal assist as standard.
23 - Are the cables included with the kits long enough?
Yes, the cables included with DORELLO kits are suitable for standard bicycles. Additionally, for longer cables suitable for 3-wheeled, cargo, or 2-wheeled trike bikes, you can contact our sales team before or after ordering the kits.
24. Is there an installment payment option for purchases made with a credit card?
Yes, bank transfer/EFT discounts and installment options are available. You can contact CUSTOMER SERVICE.
25 - Which cities do you ship to, and what is the shipping fee?
SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE TO ALL OF Türkiye AND SOME COUNTRIES ABROAD.
26 - What are the warranty conditions for the products?
We resolve problems arising from improper use according to the terms of use by providing one-to-one part replacements.
